UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath unveiled the new population policy 2021-30 on the occasion of World Population Day. Through the proposed policy, efforts will be made to increase the accessibility of contraceptive measures issued under the family planning program and to provide proper system for safe abortion and on the other hand efforts will be made to stabilize the population through improved health facilities. This includes providing accessible solutions to impotence/infertility and reducing infant and maternal mortality rates.

Amidst the discussion on the draft of the UP Population Bill 2021 of the Uttar Pradesh government, now the central government is also preparing to bring a law on it. Now the top leadership of the Bharatiya Janata Party is also slowly taking steps forward on the population control law. In order to create an atmosphere in its favor across the country, the BJP ruled states have been asked to come forward and make a policy. The population control policy of the Uttar Pradesh government is a link to this. Apart from this, by introducing the Private Member Bill in the Monsoon Session of Parliament, it is moving towards making a law.
It is to be discussed by presenting it in the Rajya Sabha. BJP’s Rajya Sabha MP Rakesh Sinha has already introduced the Private Member Bill ‘Population Regulation Bill, 2019’ regarding population control.
Let us inform that the central government is looking at the statement made by Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar in support of the population control policy of the Uttar Pradesh government. It is believed that the law on population control is at the top of the agenda of the central government.
