Prime Minister Modi said that this new commerce building is also a symbol of our achievements in the field of commerce during this period. He recalled that at the time of foundation stone laying, I had emphasized the need for innovation and improvement in the Global Innovation Index. Today we are ranked 46th on the Global Innovation Index and are continuously improving. He also talked about improving the Ease of Doing Business at that time, today more than 32000 unnecessary compliances have been removed. Similarly, at the time of foundation stone laying of the building, GST was new, today 1 lakh crore GST collection has become common practice. Talking about GeM, orders worth Rs 9 thousand crore were discussed, today more than 45 lakh small entrepreneurs are registered on the portal and orders worth more than 2.25 crore have been placed.
