Recently, Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar launched the country’s first anti-Covid vaccine developed for animals, Anokovax. Haryana-based ITR-National Research Center on Equines developed this vaccine. This vaccine is said to be effective against both the variants of Corona, Delta and Omicron.

The encovax vaccine contains an inactivated (delta) antigen to which the hydrogel is inserted as an adjuvant. This vaccine is safe for dogs, lions, leopards, rats and rabbits. On the one hand, the developing countries of the world give only knowledge about animals. On the other hand, India proved that it works for the protection of every living being by bringing the vaccine of Encovax vaccine. By the way, Indian culture has been that we always have a feeling of love for humans as well as animals and birds. Even in India there is a tradition of worshiping animals.

Animals are believed to be the vehicles of almost all Gods of Hinduism. In addition to the anocovax vaccine, a detection kit was also launched to detect antibodies against corona in animals. This is a unique nucleocapsid protein based indirect ELISA kit, launched under the name ‘Trh-shtshank-2’, which was made in India. ITC claims that there is no such antibody detection kit available in the market so far. A patent has also been filed for the kit. Launching the kit, Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar lauded the unique contribution of Indian scientists.

He said that the country is self-sufficient in developing its own vaccines instead of importing it because of the tireless contribution of the scientists. This is indeed a great achievement.
It became very important to bring corona vaccine to animals. Because corona was affecting animals too. In the recent past, cases of corona were found in animals like dogs, bats. In 2021, corona infection was found in many lions in the zoo in Chennai. The purpose of the enocovax vaccine is to protect animals from corona as well as prevent transmission from animals to humans. This will also help in saving endangered animals.
The corona epidemic proved to be one of the biggest crisis shadowing the whole world. But even during this time some selfish countries were seen hoarding vaccines instead of helping. Due to this hoarding of rich countries, people of poor countries were deprived of the vaccine. On the other hand, during the Corona period, India continued to set an example of humanity all over the world. From vaccine to delivering medicines, India did everything possible to help all the countries. Now India has taken a big step to protect the voiceless from the epidemic by manufacturing Encovax vaccine, which will prove beneficial for the whole world.
