Prime Minister Modi dedicated the National Memorial of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar to the nation on April 13, 2018. After resigning from the Council of Ministers in 1951, Dr. Ambedkar lived in the Alipore Road residence of Delhi till his last breath. The memorial reminds the youth of Babasaheb’s ideals, dedication and contribution. About the memorial – Prime Minister Modi had laid its foundation stone on March 21, 2016. The building has an exhibition space, memorial, meditation center with Buddha statue , is a 12 feet bronze statue of Dr. Ambedkar.

It has an Ashoka Pillar (11 m) at the entrance and a meditation center at the rear. It has a sewage treatment plant (30 KLD), rain water irrigation system and a rooftop solar power (50 kW) plant with net metering installed The building is erected in an area of ​​7374 square meters and its total built-up area is 6758 square metres.
