Pramod Sawant has been crowned in Goa for the second time in a row. Pramod Sawant took oath as the Chief Minister on Monday. Governor PS Sreedharan Pillai administered the oath of office to Chief Minister Pramod Sawant along with eight other ministers. The eight ministers who took oath include Vishwajit Rane, Mauvin Godinho, Ravi Naik, Nilesh Cabral, Subhash Shirodkar, Rohan Khunte, Govind Gowde and Atanasio Monserrate.
Interestingly, barring Godinho, five of the eight ministers are former Congress leaders, who have joined the BJP in the last five years. Godinho had joined the BJP six years ago. Top BJP leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP National President JP Nadda and Chief Ministers of several BJP-ruled states were present in this program. Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted after Pramod Sawant was sworn in as CM. He congratulated them.
PM Modi tweeted and wrote, “Greetings to Pramod Sawant and all other leaders who took oath in Goa today. I am confident that this entire team will give good governance to the people of Goa and carry forward the pro-people work done in the last decade. Apart from this, Congress won 11 seats, while independents were able to win three seats. Whereas Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party and Aam Aadmi Party won 02 seats each.
