Nawab Malik’s troubles will increase, ED finds 200 crore plot in Mumbai

On Wednesday, Maharashtra minister Nawab Malik was summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for questioning. Malik was arrested after questioning that lasted for nearly five hours at the ED’s office in South Mumbai’s Ballard Estate area. This investigation in the ED money laundering case was related to the activities of fugitive gangster Dawood Ibrahim and his associates in the Mumbai underworld. Now the ED has started tightening the screws on Nawab Malik. In the latest investigation, it has been told to the agency that his family also has a plot in Bandra-Kurla, which is worth about Rs 200 crore.

If sources are to be believed, Malik’s son Faraz holds 25 per cent stake in Touchwood Real Estate Pvt Ltd and the plot is attached to him. The ED has come to know that this plot was bought in the year 2006 and it was also paid in three times. The agency is now questioning the people related to the transaction in the case. Apart from this, it has also been revealed from the scrutiny of balance sheet of Touchwood Real Estate Company that it has done transactions of Rs 12.7 crore with Associate Group of Companies. The agency is now also probing the associate group.
