After the withdrawal of three agricultural laws, now the Modi government has accepted another demand of the agitating farmers. The Modi government has announced that if farmers burn stubble in the fields, then it will not be considered a crime. Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar made this announcement. He said that farmers’ organizations had demanded that stubble burning should be decriminalized. The government has now accepted this demand. Tomar told that after the announcement of the cancellation of three agricultural laws, now the agitation should end. He urged the farmers to go home. The Agriculture Minister said that on the very first day of the session of Parliament, a bill to repeal the Agriculture Act will be introduced.
Let us inform that on November 19, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced the repeal of agricultural laws. Even then, he appealed to the farmers to end the agitation and return home. The PM had said that he apologizes to the country that he could not explain the benefits of the law to the farmers. Modi had also said that the laws were brought in the interest of farmers, but the government is taking them back in the interest of the country. Farmers’ organizations have not shown a positive stand on Modi’s appeal and announcement. He has promised to continue the movement. Along with this, farmer leaders are also demanding a law on Minimum Support Price (MSP). Apart from this, farmers organizations have also announced to march 1000 farmers to Parliament with 60 tractors on 29th November.
