Recently, a play was staged at the famous Edinburgh International Drama Festival in Scotland. However, it received less praise, and more controversy over it. This is because Hindu deities were abused and depicted consuming narcotics in the play, allegedly for cheap popularity.
But what was this drama? What words or content were used in this, which has angered Hindus all over the world? The Hindu Times drama, composed by Scottish-born writer Jamini Jethwa and directed by Caitlin Skinner, will be screened at the Edinburgh Theater Festival from 20 to 21 August.
But in the glimpses that have come out in a few days, it has come to know that in the name of showing modern Hindu gods and goddesses, they present a very negative image of them. While making fun of Sanatan culture, this drama also insults Lord Brahma, Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi and also gets dirty and dirty words out of their mouth.
Scottish politician Rajan Jade objected to this subject, saying that Hindu gods and goddesses are worshipped. They should be respected, but what EIF has done is condemnable.
They have insulted Sanatan Dharma, they have shown Hindu gods and goddesses wandering from door to door for liquor in the name of modernity.
But the matter did not stop here. The Hindu Times has also shown how Hindu gods and goddesses openly use abusive words and promote obscenity. President of BJP’s Foreign Department, UK, Kuldeep Shekhawat said that, if this play insults Sanatan culture, then UK administration should stop the performance of this play with immediate effect.
These days, throwing mud on the Sanatan culture has become a fashion. Whether native or foreign, everyone considers it their ultimate religion to humiliate Indian culture in the name of becoming cool. But it is also a matter of relief that now people do not live with a sip of humiliation as before. Now people also immediately oppose such abusive content
