IUML worker dies in post-poll clash in Kannur, Kerala

The IUML worker was allegedly killed after the violence on Tuesday late night by CPI (M) workers in Kannur district of Kerala. Police identified the victim as 21-year-old Parul Manzoor, a resident of Panoor near Kuthuparamba in the district. His 27-year-old brother Muhsin was seriously injured in the attack. A CPI (M) worker was detained in connection with the incident. According to police, a gang bitten the brothers after a storm in their home at around 8 a.m., an hour after the voting ended.

Both were taken to a local hospital in Thalassery, but Manzoor died around midnight. Police said tension had erupted between CPI (M) and IUML workers at Pulaskeda near Panoor since Monday night.
