23 February (Language) E-commerce company Amazon India and e-vehicle company Mahindra Electric announced a partnership on Tuesday. Under this, Amazon has added about 100 e-vehicles of Mahindra Electric to its delivery network in the country.
According to a joint statement by the two companies, Mahindra’s nearly 100 Trio Thor e-vehicles have been included in Amazon’s delivery network in seven cities of the country. These cities are Bengaluru, New Delhi, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Indore and Lucknow. They are included in Amazon India’s network of delivery service partners.
It is noteworthy that Amazon had announced the inclusion of one lakh e-vehicles in its global delivery network by 2030 as part of an assurance on environment. Under this, the company will add 10,000 e-vehicles to the delivery network in India by 2025. Accordingly, the company has made around 100 e-vehicles of Mahindra Electric a part of the delivery fleet.
Amazon said, “This partnership with Mahindra Electric is an important step towards achieving environmental sustainability goals.”
Mahesh Babu, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Mahindra Electric Mobility Limited said, “We believe this partnership will redefine India’s logistics and delivery requirements. At the same time, this partnership will help Mahindra and Amazon achieve their environmental goals. “
