Nikita Jacob absconding in toolkit case, non-bailable warrant issued

The arrest of Disha Ravi, who works on the environmental issues of Bengaluru in the matter of sharing the toolkit on farmers’ social media, is just beginning. There may be more arrests in this case. Delhi Police has said that the search for two more suspects Nikita Jacob and Shantanu is currently going on in the toolkit case. Non-bailable warrants have also been issued against these two and raids are going on in many places including Mumbai. Nikita Jacob is a lawyer in the Bombay High Court.

According to reports, Nikita Jacob is absconding and following an appeal from the Delhi Police, the Delhi High Court has issued a non-bailable warrant against him. According to an India Today report, sources in the Special Cell of the Delhi Police have reported that one of their teams reached Nikita Jacob’s house on 11 February. However, this team reached Nikita’s house in the evening and could not interrogate her. However, Nikita had signed a document saying that she would cooperate in the investigation but after that she went underground.

Police say Disha Ravi provided a tool kit to Greta Thunberg of Sweden and she is the main conspirator in the entire case. This is seen to be linked to the violent demonstrations at the Red Fort in Delhi on 26 January.

They are alleged to have added and forwarded a few things while changing the toolkit related to farmers. When Greta Thunberg shared the toolkit, Disha Ravi warned Greta that the toolkit had gone public. Later Greta deleted it and then shared its edited version.

What are the charges against Disha Ravi?
Delhi Police has registered a case against Disha Ravi for sedition, inciting violence, criminal conspiracy. A case has been registered against them for cooperation in preparing the toolkit. On Sunday, the court ordered Disha Ravi to be sent to police custody for 5 days.

What is a tool kit?
In fact, Greta Thanberg, who tweeted on the peasant movement, shared a Google document called Toolkit. In it, an action plan was mentioned about the farmer movement, how the atmosphere will be created for it and there will be an attempt to change the perception on social media. Regarding this toolkit, the IT ministry had said on Twitter that it shows that a strategy was developed to spread confusion about the farmer movement outside India.
