Prime Minister Narendra Modi had called for cleanliness at every level by running the Swachh Bharat Mission campaign across the country. Uttar Pradesh is leading from other states of the country in the Swachh Bharat Mission program run by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in the state with the slogan of Swachh Pradesh, Swasth Pradesh. The heritage of cleanliness is being maintained by running a cleanliness campaign in every village of the state. Cleanliness is the basis of dignity and health of the common man. Various infectious diseases caused by cleanliness get rid of. Mosquitoes of infectious diseases like Dengue, Malaria, Yellow Fever, Encephalitis, Chikungunya, JE Filariasis, etc. are being wiped out by cleaning the drains and drains of the villages and cities of the state. The state government has completely eradicated the filth caused by defecating outside in the villages. Today, clean toilets have been built in every house. In Uttar Pradesh, the present government has made the general public healthy by giving a clean environment.
State Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has made toilets being built in villages and cities popular by giving the name ‘Izzatghar’. Today Izzat Ghar has been constructed in the houses of each of the eligible individual beneficiaries in the villages. All 75 districts of the state have been declared open defecation free (ODF+). Clean toilets have been constructed in every household of all the villages on the banks of Ganga in the state. 10 crore people have been benefitted by constructing more than 2.61 crore individual toilets in the state. Weddings and other social, cultural programs are often held in the villages. In such a situation there is a need for community toilets. The government has constructed community toilets in all 58,758 gram panchayats of the state for the people of the villages with similar conditions. All these community toilets have been transferred to self-help groups for maintenance and employment generation.
The state government has provided facilities to the women and girls of rural areas by manufacturing 4450 pink toilets. In order to maintain community toilets in rural areas and cleanliness at other village level, the state government has deployed 15,000 women sanitation workers and 70 thousand general sanitation workers. With the deployment of these sanitation workers, along with cleanliness, employment has also been provided to them.
Along with rural cleanliness, the state government has paid special attention to the cleanliness of the cities. By making public toilets, public toilets at the squares, major markets, other important places in the cities, the common man, women, girls have been provided facilities. The government has constructed 59265 community toilets in urban areas and 652 pink toilets for women and girls. Special works are being done to maintain cleanliness, keep drains and drains in urban areas. Door-to-door garbage collection is being done in 11913 wards out of 12,007 wards of municipal bodies of the state. This makes each locality look neat and clean. There is no visible dirt anywhere. Good facilities are being provided to the citizens by constructing drinking water system, sewer and drain in the municipal bodies of the state. Under the AMRUT scheme, construction of drinking water, sewerage, sewerage has been done in 60 cities of the state. Under the able leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the slogan of Swachh Pradesh-Swasth Pradesh has been fulfilled 100%.
