Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday inaugurated the Prime Minister’s Museum at Teen Murti Bhawan in Delhi. The special thing is that after inaugurating, he himself first went inside to see this museum after buying a ticket. During his address on the occasion, PM Modi said that there is as much future in this museum as there is in the past. This museum will take the people of the country on the journey of development of India in a new direction and new form, taking the people of the country back in time. He said that this museum would prove to be a living reflection of the legacy of all the earlier governments after independence.
Addressing the people on this occasion, the Prime Minister said that it is a matter of great pride for us Indians that most of our Prime Ministers have come from a very simple family. Coming from a remote countryside, coming from a very poor family, even coming from a farmer family, reaching the post of Prime Minister strengthens the faith in the great traditions of Indian democracy. PM Modi said that leaving one or two exceptions, we have a proud tradition of strengthening democracy in a democratic way. That is why we also have an obligation to keep strengthening democracy with our efforts. He said that India is the mother of democracy. The great feature of India’s democracy is that it has been continuously changing with the passage of time. In every era, in every generation, there has been a continuous effort to make democracy more modern, empowered.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that we belong to that civilization where it is said that noble thoughts should come to us from all sides. Our democracy inspires us, to accept innovation, to accept new ideas. He said that it is the good fortune of our government that in Delhi, we got Babasaheb’s memorial constructed at Alipur Road, the Mahaparinirvan Sthali. The Panch Teerths which have been developed by Babasaheb are the centers of inspiration for social justice and unwavering national loyalty.
The works of all the Prime Ministers till date will be displayed in the Prime Minister’s Museum. It is known that in the cabinet meeting chaired by PM Modi last month, it was decided to convert Nehru Museum into PM Museum. During the cabinet meeting, PM Modi had said that the government has taken this decision to acknowledge the contribution of former prime ministers. We all want to recognize the contribution of the PM. The Prime Minister’s Museum showcases the works of all the former Prime Ministers. Their families were also contacted for valuable information about former prime ministers. In this museum Jawaharlal Nehru, Gulzari Lal Nanda, Lal Bahadur Shastri, Indira Gandhi, Morarji Desai, Chaudhary Charan Singh, Rajiv Gandhi, Vishwanath Pratap Singh, Chandrashekhar, Narasimha Rao, Atal Bihari Vajpayee, HD Deve Gowda, Inder Kumar Gujral, Manmohan Singh will be included.
The PM Museum will tell the story of India’s freedom struggle to the making of the Constitution. It has been told how our Prime Ministers rescued the country from various challenges and ensured all round progress of the country. The design of the museum building is inspired by the story of emerging India. It has been given the shape of the hands of the leaders. The design features sustainable and energy conservation. State-of-the-art technology-based communication facilities have been arranged in the Prime Minister’s Museum to present information to the youth in an easy and interesting manner. Holograms, Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, Multi-Touch, Multi-media, Interactive Kiosks, Computerized Kinetic Sculptures, Smartphone Applications, Interactive Screens etc. have been installed to make the exhibition highly interactive.
