ED attaches sugar of Ajit Pawar’s wife

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has attached a sugar mill worth 65.75 crores in the Maharashtra Co-operative Bank scam case. The sugar mill which has been attached is linked to the company of Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra Ajit Pawar. This is the company of Ajit Pawar’s wife Sunetra Ajit Pawar. Let us tell you that Ajit Pawar is the leader of NCP and is the nephew of Sharad Pawar.

The ED started the proceedings by registering a case of money laundering on the case registered in the year 2019 in the Economic Offenses Wing of the Government of Maharashtra. It was alleged that the Maharashtra State Co-operative Bank sold the cooperative sugar factory to its relatives and friends at very low prices. That too without following the SARFAESI Act. After this, the matter went to the Bombay High Court and the Economic Offenses Wing of Maharashtra Police registered a case and then the ED also started its investigation.

The investigation found that M/s Jarandeshwar Sahkari Sugar Karkhana (Jarandeshwar SSK) in Satara, Maharashtra was bought by M/s Guru Commodity Service Pvt Ltd in the year 2010 for 65.75 crores and immediately this sugar mill was transferred to M/s Jarandeshwar Sugar Mills. Led out to Pvt Ltd. But most of the stake in this company is with Ajit Pawar and his wife Sunetra Pawar’s company M/s Sparkling Soil Pvt Ltd. Ajit Pawar was on the post of Director in Maharashtra State Co-operative Bank.

The investigation also revealed that M/s Guru Commodity Service Pvt Ltd had to be purchased for purchase of M/s Jarandeshwar Sahkari Sugar Karkhana (Jarandeshwar SSK).
The money received came from M/s Jarandeshwar Sugar Mills Pvt Ltd, which was leased out immediately after purchasing the sugar mill, but M/s Jarandeshwar Sugar Mills Pvt Ltd also received this money from Ajit Pawar’s company M/s Sparkling Came from Soil Pvt Ltd, i.e. in a way, the company associated with Ajit Pawar had bought the sugar mill.

According to ED, M/s Guru Commodity Service Pvt Ltd was a dummy company which was used only to buy M/s Jarandeshwar Sahkari Sugar Karkhana(Jarandeshwar SSK). Apart from this, this cooperative sugar factory was used to take a loan of Rs 700 crore from the Pune District Central Co-operative Bank, which is still there.
