At the same time, government sources have said that strict action will be taken against Twitter. Let us tell you that earlier on November 12, the government had issued a notice to Twitter to show Leh as part of Jammu and Kashmir instead of the Union Territory of Ladakh. The Grievance Officer who was appointed for the same has left his post. On Sunday, a news agency has given this information quoting sources.

Sources said that Dharmendra Chatur has resigned from the post, who was recently appointed Interim Resident Grievance Officer for India by Twitter.
His name is no longer appearing on the website of social media company Twitter, which is required under the Information Technology (Intermediate Guidelines and Digital Media Code of Conduct) Rules 2021. However, Twitter has refused to say anything about this

A final notice has been given by the Government of India on Saturday regarding the new IT rules. It is worth noting that regarding the new rules, it was said by the central government that Twitter India has been given a final notice to immediately follow the new rules.

If Twitter fails to comply with these new rules, the exemption from liability available against it in India under Section 79 of the IT Act, 2000 will be withdrawn. Apart from this, action will be taken on Twitter as per IT Act and other penal law of India. Earlier, Twitter had refused to comply with the new IT rules. However, Google and giants like Facebook and WhatsApp have already agreed to appoint statutory officers as per the guidelines contained in the new IT.
