February 24 (talk) Five hostel staff and 40 students of a hostel in Latur town of Marathwada region in Maharashtra have been found corona infected.
District Health Officer of Latur, Dr. Laxman Deshmukh has given this information. He said that more than 300 students and staff living in the hostel were subjected to corona tests, whose report came on Tuesday in which 40 students and five employees were found corona infected.
Mr. Deshmukh informed that all the infected students and employees have been quarantined at the Kovid Center on Barshi Road. The area has been declared as a prohibited area and surrounding schools have been closed as a precautionary measure.
He said that the infected students belong to class IX and class X. There are 60 teachers and non-teaching staff working in the hostel premises of which 30 have been investigated.
