Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that the central government is constantly monitoring the flood situation in Assam. He said that the Central Government is working closely with the State Government in providing all possible assistance to deal with the floods. In a series of tweets, Prime Minister Modi said that during the last few days, due to heavy rainfall in some parts of Assam, a flood situation has arisen.

In another tweet, he said that Army and NDRF teams are present in the flood affected areas. They are engaged in rescue operations and are helping the affected.

The Air Force has carried out more than 250 flights as a part of the rescue process. Prime Minister Modi in his next tweet said that Chief Minister Himanta Biswa, ministers and officials of the Assam government are working round the clock in the districts and helping the victims.
