Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s tenure has completed eight years. He has taken many big and bold decisions during this period, which are directly related to the interest of the general public. During this, Prime Minister Modi has done a historic work in comparison to the previous governments in the matter of agricultural reforms. He faced many challenges, but he kept moving forward by giving priority to farmer welfare instead of confrontation. Sticking to the mantra of ‘Reform, Transform and Perform’ adopted by him in the agriculture sector, he continues to move ahead. As a result of this, today the agricultural sector is developing from seed to market. The income of farmers is increasing.
Let us see how the Modi government has worked in the interest of farmers in the last eight years. Its economic benefits go directly to the common farmers. So far ten installments have been released under this scheme. Under the Kisan Samman Nidhi, a total of Rs 1.80 lakh crore was sent to the bank accounts of more than 11.90 crore farmer beneficiaries in ten installments. The 11th installment will be released on May 31, 2022, under which Rs 22 thousand crore will be transferred to 11 crore farmers. Prime Minister Modi himself will send this amount to the bank account of the farmers.

It is worth noting that under the ‘PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana’ launched in December 2018, farmers get an allowance of Rs 6,000 per year, which is distributed thrice a year in an interval of four months. The income of farmers is increasing due to the initiatives of Prime Minister Modi and his government. The income of farmer families was Rs 6426 in 2013, which increased by 59 percent to Rs 10,218 in 2019. The number of households earning from agriculture was 54 percent in the year 2013, which increased to 58 percent in 2019. Income from crop production increased by 15 percent between 2013 and 2019.

Income from animal husbandry increased by 34 percent. 11.43 crore farmers are associated with the crop insurance scheme. Farmers have received more than Rs 1 lakh crore claims since 2016 till date. PM Kisan Maandhan Yojana was launched on September 12, 2019. Farmers have the facility of pension of Rs 3,000 per month. Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated to the nation a new dairy complex and potato processing plant at Deodar in Banaskantha district on April 19, 2022, which has been built at a cost of over Rs 600 crore.
