Indo-Pacific to be discussed in Quad along with strengthening India-Japan special partnership

Prime Minister Narendra Modi left for Japan on the evening of Sunday, 22 May. In his statement before leaving for Japan, Prime Minister Modi said that the Indo-Pacific is expected to be discussed in the Quad along with strengthening the India-Japan Special Partnership. Prime Minister is visiting Tokyo from 23 to 24 May at the invitation of Prime Minister of Japan Fumio Kishida. During this, the Prime Minister will participate in the Quad Leaders’ Conference. During his visit to Tokyo, Prime Minister Modi will emphasize on strengthening the India-Japan Special Strategic and Global Partnership.

Prime Minister Modi will attend the second in-person Quad Leaders’ Conference in Japan. In the meeting, the leaders of the four Quad countries will review the progress of the Quad initiatives. During this, the Prime Minister will also exchange views on developments in the Indo-Pacific region and global issues of mutual interest. In his statement before leaving for Japan, Prime Minister Modi said, ‘I will have a bilateral meeting with President Joseph Biden, where we Will discuss further strengthening of bilateral relations with America in various aspects. We will also continue our dialogue on regional development and contemporary global issues.
