OCI card holders require special permission if they want to do ‘tabble’, media activities: Govt.

All foreign national (OCI) card holders in India will be required to seek special permission from the Central Government if they wish to engage in any missionary or “talig” or journalist activities in the country. However, the Union Home Ministry has given a major concession to OCI card holders by allowing air fares in domestic areas, entry fees for visiting national parks, equality with Indian citizens in national monuments and museums. The ministry said in a notification that OCI card holders will be entitled to multiple entry-life visas to visit India for any purpose, But “Foreigners are required to obtain a special permission from the Regional Registration Officer or the Indian Mission.

 To undertake research and any missionary or tablig or mountaineering or journalistic activities. OCI card holders must obtain special permission to undertake internship in any foreign diplomatic mission or foreign government organizations in India or to take employment in any foreign diplomatic mission in India or visit any place which is protected or limited or within a limited scope . Prohibited areas as notified by the Central Government or the competent authority.
