The resolve shown by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Vasudhaiv Kutumbakam, caring for the people of the world, is going to be realized soon. A ministerial meeting is set to take place at the United Nations next week to discuss global food security and the crisis situation. In this, the offer of India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also be considered in solving the food crisis faced by many countries of the world due to Ukraine-Russia war. India will also participate in this meeting convened by US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on 18 May.

The meeting will mainly discuss how to save the poor countries of Asia and Africa from the future food crisis. In fact, due to wrong policies in many countries of the world, the food crisis is deepening. In many countries of Asia, Europe and Africa, including Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Afghanistan, there is a crisis of food grains due to inflation and low production. People are forced to sleep hungry. In the time of such crisis of these countries, Prime Minister Narendra Modi came forward with great generosity. Recently, Prime Minister Modi also spoke to US President Joe Biden about this.

He said that if the WTO allows, India is fully prepared to supply food reserves to the world. Due to better agricultural management, India can give food grains to the whole world. It can fill the stomachs of millions of people in the world. In India, there is sufficient stock of food grains due to the farmer-friendly policies of the central government and the working farmers. Along with this meeting, a debate on the food crisis is also to be held in the United Nations Security Council. This crisis has mainly arisen due to the impact of wheat supplies from Ukraine and international sanctions imposed on Russia.

India has offered on several occasions during the last one month that it is ready to do all it can to save the world from this future food crisis. The first offer was made by PM Narendra Modi in a virtual meeting with US President Joe Biden. He said, ‘I was talking to the President of America, he also raised this serious issue. I suggested that if the WTO allows, India is fully prepared to supply food reserves to the world. Did that India is ready to save the world from food crisis. But for this the World Trade Organization (WTO) will have to change its rules.
